ABOUT
WHAT IS SESAM?
SESAM (Small European Students of Architecture Meeting) can be considered a smaller, more focused EASA event. It is for and by EASIANS, just like the main event. It allows for a more intimate consideration of the theme at hand.
Compared to the big EASA event, SESAM is be more flexible in terms of its structure, giving the organisers the freedom to choose dates, number of participants, duration etc.

IDENTITY - τ[αυτό]τητα/kimlik
Talking about identity is certainly a complex matter. And the answer is not black or white. Your identity will definitely be influenced by your environment and vice-versa.
"With the theme Identity, we aim to deepen our understanding of how architecture intersects with cultural, social, and historical narratives. We seek to explore the impact spatial practices have on individual and collective identity. We, as architects, especially need to think about how our work influences people’s and cities’ identities."
WHY IDENTITY?
→ With the theme identity we propose to study the symbolic relationship between architecture and identity.
→ Inspired by Nicosia's unique status as Europe's last divided capital, we aim to foster discussions on identity and its impact on space.
→ Global issues such as gentrification and recent escalation of conflicts, make this discussion ever relevant.
WORKSHOPS
Participants acquire new knowledge and skills through the practice of creative, intellectual and manual activities and will choose to take part in one of about 10 workshops for ten days.
● Promote the discovery of territories and cultures.
● Should interact with the local context.
● Are always linked to the main theme.
● Topics and methods may range from discussing hypotheses and concepts constructing pavilions, photographing, learning a new craft or making performances.
