About
EASA
Organised by students, for students, EASA offers a unique framework for education, accommodating a non institutionalised way of teaching, learning and exchange. A horizontal learning process where decisions are made upon consensus, EASA gives a chance to experience architecture in a way that universities are yet not providing. Bringing students to a certain context, defined by the location and theme of the assembly, where they have to raise architectural questions themselves and investigate them through the eyes of all European cultures simultaneously. Being their own educators, students then elaborate the answers and bring them to reality.
An Immersive Experience & Alternative Education
A location
Each year, the annual event moves to a new location-country within the EASA network, offering fresh challenges in design, theory, and space, organised by volunteers who align the venue and theme with a shared purpose. For two weeks, the community becomes self-sufficient, and its success relies on personal involvement, fostering the unique and vibrant "EASA Spirit."

History
Founded in 1981, EASA has thrived for over 40 years by fostering alternative pedagogies through the dedication of its community members. Organisers spend two years preparing the event, tutors offer a diverse educational program, helpers manage logistics and meals, and participants dedicate two weeks to immersive architectural education.

Tutors
Tutors are responsible for providing the theoretical and practical frameworks for understanding the year's theme and fostering discussions; with organisers encouraging site visits before submitting workshop proposals, and tutors—who can form teams and come from various disciplines—are expected to maintain close communication with organisers leading up to and during the event.
Helpers
To get involved in the event's organisation, you can apply as a Helper, with tasks like working at the info-point, managing tools, assisting in the kitchen, transporting materials, or tending the bar, with shifts ensuring free time, and it's appreciated if you can help before and after the event for setup and dismantling.
